The Certificate in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) consists of three courses covering the different phases of HVAC from a non-engineering and practical point of view. It includes the basic concepts, engineering, and installation, maintenance, and balancing of HVAC equipment. This certificate is to ensure that participants are able to identify parts of and manage an active HVAC installation in a building.

This online certificate consists of three courses. Live online sessions are every Tuesday, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time (AST).

Certificate Requirements

It is highly recommended that participants take the three modules in sequential order. The certificate is awarded after the completion of the three modules, including all quizzes and final exams. This represents approximately 150 hours of training including online sessions, assignments, home study, and examination preparation. Participants must attain a minimum of 65% for each Module and an aggregate average of at least 75% in the program.

Instructor

Marcus Hinds, P.Eng, CEM, MBA, PMP, is originally an Energy Manager with over seven years of experience in HVAC optimization and Energy Auditing. Marcus has worked mainly in Canada & the Caribbean and holds a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering, with an MBA from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. Marcus lectures at several Universities and Colleges and continues to participate in ongoing industry projects and professional development.

Marcus has written several industry articles and papers for presentation, many published in Magazines. Marcus carries out commercial and residential audits, along with executing project management and control while running a micro magazine of his own, and is the CEO of EnerScope Energy Research & Mapping – a firm specializing in Energy Research, Energy Reduction, and Sustainability/Geomatics research.
