Course Description

This course is 28 learning hours inclusive of 28 hours of live sessions. It is recommended that students spend an additional 2 hours per week on this course. 


Since the mid-1980s, the most successful organizations have used Lean Six Sigma to enable its people to make a direct difference by using sound business processes aligned with strategy for the benefit of the customer. This interactive course will introduce Lean Six Sigma’s modern, effective and collaborative approach to solving organizational quality and efficiency problems. It will cover the importance of using measured data when identifying problems with processes, tools that can be used to implement changes in order to eliminate the root cause of problems, and how to bring process performance under control so improved processes remain well implemented and maintained for long-term effectiveness.

Upon completion of the course, participants will have the opportunity to take a formal Green Belt certification exam, written approximately six weeks after the last virtual session, to acknowledge their Green Belt-level knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology tools and techniques. To get the most out of the program, the completion of a job site project with Black Belt coaching support is highly recommended, but not required.

Analyze, Improve, and Control Phases

  • Sessions 14 and 15: Analyzing Sources of Variation (Hypothesis Testing) and Regression Analysis
  • Session 16: Improve Stage Objectives and Tools
  • Session 17: Designed Experiments, Simulations, Project Scheduling
  • Session 18: Control Stage Objectives and Tools, Control Plans, Program Closing
