Course Description

This course is 3 learning hours. Students can complete this course in one session, or at their own pace.


Knowing the basics of fire safety is crucial for protecting lives and property. It empowers individuals to prevent fires by understanding common hazards, properly using fire extinguishers, and safely evacuating buildings. Fire safety knowledge also includes recognizing the importance of working smoke alarms and having an escape plan. By being prepared, people can respond effectively in emergencies, reducing the risk of injury or death and minimizing damage to personal and communal spaces. This awareness fosters a safer environment in homes, workplaces, and public areas.

This course will provide the learner with an introduction to Fire Safety. Students will learn the basic composition of fire, the classifications of fire, types of fire extinguishers, proper use of a fire extinguisher, fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and fire evacuation procedures.

Course Outline

There are a total of six modules that make up the Fire Safety course:

  • Module 1: Introduction
  • Module 2: Classifications of Fire
  • Module 3: Portable Fire Extinguishers
  • Module 4: Fire Alarm Systems
  • Module 5: Fire Suppression Systems
  • Module 6: Fire Evacuation Procedures
