Course Description

Ergonomics refers to any person-environment interaction. Ergonomics in the workplace is important because taking care of yourself in the workplace affects the other parts of your life where you can do the activities you want to do or love to do.

This interactive course presents and applies ergonomic fundamentals to empower learners to mitigate their exposure to ergonomic risk factors during participation in daily living activities, whether at work or away from work. It covers principles of optimal ergonomics for the physical environment to enhance physical efficiency and safety, as well as for the psychosocial and cultural environment to promote psychological health and safety.

Course Outline

There are a total of five modules that make up the Ergonomics course:
  • Module 1: Ergonomic Fundamentals
  • Module 2: Office Ergonomics
  • Module 3: Ergonomic Principles When Using Laptops, Tablets, and Smartphones
  • Module 4: Ergonomic Approaches to Handling Materials
  • Module 5: Psychological Health and Safety Principles in the Workplace

What You Will Learn

  • An overview of ergonomics and how it applies to a variety of settings
  • Techniques to improve ergonomics in your environment
