Course Description

The primary objective of periodontal therapy and surgery is to enhance the health, function, and comfort of the patient's teeth, ultimately contributing to a more favorable long-term prognosis. Whether through resective or regenerative techniques, these procedures aim to preserve the natural dentition and improve oral well-being. It is crucial for all dental professionals, particularly dental hygienists, to have a solid understanding of periodontology and surgical principles. This knowledge equips them to collaborate more effectively within the dental team, ensuring the smooth execution of treatment plans and improved patient outcomes.
In this lecture, Dr. Zeeshan Sheikh, a board-certified periodontist with extensive experience in both clinical practice and academia, will simplify complex surgical concepts. By breaking down both resective and regenerative approaches, Dr. Sheikh will help participants gain a clearer grasp of periodontal surgery. This deeper understanding will empower them to contribute more confidently and effectively to patient care in a team-based setting.
