Course Description
Endo for GPs: Better, faster and safer root canals
(with workshop on instrumentation/intra-canal activation/obturation)
Attendees are asked to bring three extracted teeth stored in bleach, accessed but not instrumented.
This program will show how you can perform endodontics more predictably, in less time and more safely, by incorporating endodontic innovations. Many recent advances in endodontic armamentaria and protocols have, for the better, simplified clinical endodontics. By doing so, we can perform endodontics more efficiently and safely. This will include innovations in diagnosis, instrumentation (including calcified canals), intra-canal disinfection, obturation, and single visit endodontics, amongst other aspects of endodontics. Numerous practical tips, tricks and tools will be highlighted.
The workshop is tailored for novice and experienced dentists. Participants will learn, how to locate and negotiate canals (incl curved & calcified), instrument and obturate more efficiently & safely. There will also be exercises on safe and effective intra-canal irrigation and how to 1-visit endo.
What You Will Learn
- FASTER. Learn how to more efficiently: locate canals (including MB2), instrument and obturate with fewer steps.
- BETTER. Learn how to better: access teeth, locate and instrument cal’d canals, follow curved canal, anesthetize (hot) teeth, improve intra-canal medications.
- SAFER. Learn how to separate less files, prevent perforations, avoid canal ledging / blocking, prevent obturation extrusion, reduce post-op pain.
- Learn how to perform single visit root canals.
- Learn the what and when of analgesics and antibiotics in endodontics and how to reduce post op flare-ups.
- Learn how to diagnose endo versus non-endo related symptoms and avoid wrong treatments.
