Course Description
Bridge Training - Third Pathway to Dental Practice in CanadaDalhousie is one of three pilot sites for the development of a Third Pathway to licensure for internationally trained dentists from non-accredited programs who are either Canadian citizens or permanent residents. The University of Alberta is leading the project, with the ACFD serving as the sponsoring organization. The three schools—the University of Alberta, Université Laval, and Dalhousie—have developed assessment tools to select students and identify deficiencies requiring remediation.
The program includes a pre-assessment period, followed by acceptance into the Bridge Training Program. Upon completing the program, which takes approximately 3–9 months, participants will be eligible to challenge the NDEB exam and then apply for licensure.
