Course Description

This course is 22.5 hours. It is recommended that students spend an average of 3 hours per week on this course work.


Practical implementation of theoretical and pedagogical principals is an essential element of Module 4. Participants practice CLIL principles in micro-teaching sessions. Participants will practice principles of course design for an EMI classroom.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Implement of theoretical and pedagogical principles of CLIL and EMI studied in courses 1-3 of the PDC-EMI
  • Prepare and deliver a micro-teaching session based on CLIL principles
  • Design lessons appropriate for their EMI context
  • Deliver and receive peer feedback on their micro-teaching

  • OLCD-DEMI0041 - 015 - Classroom Management & Assessment in CLIL Pedagogy (Complete)

This is a self-paced/asynchronous course. Participants can start and finish based on their own schedule.

Upon completion of all four required courses for the EMI certificate, an email should be sent to els@dal.ca including the student’s full name, B01#, and mailing address. The EMI certificate will then be issued and mailed to the address provided.
