Course Description

Delving into the nuances of immediate dental implant placement, this course offers in-depth discussions on essential topics such as indications, treatment planning, and precise techniques for implant placement at both anterior and posterior sites. Participants will gain a solid understanding of the underlying principles contributing to the success of immediate implants, supplemented by actionable tips to optimize fixture placement in terms of position and angulation.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are two sessions to register for this course: 001- In-person and 002 - Virtual.

Sayed Mirbod, M Chem Eng, DDS, MSc Perio
Dr. Sayed Mirbod
brings over two decades of experience as a distinguished Periodontist based in Nova Scotia. He obtained his dental degree from the University of Western Ontario and furthered his expertise through specialized training in Periodontics at the University of Manitoba. Since 2001, Dr. Mirbod has been dedicated to the fields of periodontics and implant surgery, amassing extensive knowledge and skill. With a track record of successfully placing thousands of immediate implants, Dr. Mirbod's expertise spans various aspects of implant surgery, including sinus lifts, vertical and horizontal bone augmentation, and immediate implant placement.

Haider Al-Waeli, DDS, MSc Perio, PhD, M Perio, FRCDC
Dr. Al-Waeli
is a certified Periodontist, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and works as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University. He received a PhD from McGill University and a Master in Periodontics from Dalhousie. He is also a member of many professional and academic association around the world such as American Academy of Periodontology, Canadian Academy of Periodontology, European Federation of Periodontology, and International Association of Dental Research.
