Course Description
On behalf of the Atlantic Tech Transfer Team for Apiculture and Dalhousie Extended Learning, we are excited to offer additional hands-on training to past participants of the Fundamentals of Beekeeping! Since students who took Fundamentals of Beekeeping from 2020-2022 missed the opportunity to receive hands-on training in the apiary, we want to offer you four valuable hands-on beekeeping training sessions spanning the three Maritime provinces. Currently, we are only offering this training to past participants of the Fundamentals of Beekeeping, and it will occur throughout the 2024 program. This is a great opportunity to get practical beekeeping experience, ask questions to experienced beekeepers, and refresh your knowledge of good beekeeping practices.
In addition to the practical beekeeping experience you will gain through this training, we are also inviting you to attend an evening discussion with industry representatives. The discussion with industry representatives will occur the night before the in-apiary training and will be an opportunity ask members of the government and industry questions about beekeeping in Atlantic Canada. We have received very positive feedback about these evening sessions, and we strongly believe the conversations that take place are invaluable for those early on in their beekeeping careers.
