Course Description
A safe workplace is vital to any organization's mission and no undertaking should be considered so important that it be pursued in an unsafe manner. Managers and supervisors have the responsibility to protect workers and keep the workplace safe.
This course offers learners an overview of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act of Nova Scotia. Designed to meet the needs of managers and supervisors, learners will become familiar with safety principles and risk management, legislation, rights and responsibilities, hazard identification, the internal responsibility system, their internal and legal responsibilities, and the concept of due diligence.
Course Outline
This course consists of three modules:
- Module 1: Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety Awareness
- Module 2: Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
- Module 3: Responsibilities of Employer and Employee
