Project Management Essentials (100% Online)

Dalhousie University pleased to offer the very popular course, Project Management Essentials, in an adapted format. It will consist of 4 weeks of self-directed, online learning, including 4 online live sessions with the same instructor who teaches the classroom version of Project Management Essentials. During those live sessions, the instructor will critique submitted homework assignments, address challenges, and discuss how the project management tools can be applied in the work environment. Participants can complete the course modules on their own schedule; however, during the first live session, the instructor will recommend submission deadlines for suggested homework assignments. Improved and updated, this course provides new project managers and project team members the essential tools they need to deliver successful projects. In our most popular course, a generic project is managed through the complete project life cycle, from initiating, through project planning and execution, to project close-out.

As well as a great learning experience for an individual, it is also suited for "jump-starting" an entire project team about to embark on a project. Like our other courses, it can be "customized" to your organization's environment, by substituting the generic project with a case study from your environment, and using your templates and terminology.

  • Use the terminology and processes of modern project management
