Course Description

This course is a total of 10.5 hours. Participants must complete this course within 6 months of the date of enrollment.

This dynamic and interactive program provides participants with knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to effectively perform the role of the BA in agile environments and to explore ways to enhance the value BAs produce in agile environments. All agile concepts and topics are from the business analyst’s role and point of view.

Course Outline

  • Day 1: Introduction to Agile and Scrum  (planning, product backlog, prioritizing, planning cycles, iteration zero, estimating)
    • The role of the Product Owner (PO), the role of the BA in supporting the PO
  • Day 2: Roles, responsibilities, and relationships
    • Agile requirements and user stories
      • Types of documentation 
    • Requirements risk management  
      • Requirements verification and validation  
  • Day 3: Documenting the acceptance criteria
    • Use cases, purposes, and application, use case modeling, and use case scenarios
    • Demos (purpose, process, and backlog maintenance)
    • Additional BA roles and challenges including feedback, the retrospective, stakeholder engagement
    • The added value of the agile BA
