Course Description

This course is 7 learning hours over a 2 day period. It is recommended that students spend an additional 1 hour over the two day period on this course.

This course is designed to guide students through procurement practices, the bid process, contract negotiations, managing contractors and vendors for optimum performance, and provide a taste of contract law. This course will provide the fundamental tools required for project managers. It will also offer an insight into the role of the procurement officer or buyer on a project team.

Course Outline

  • Session 1: Introduction, procurement objectives, definitions, the procurement process, plan procurement, conduct procurements, due diligence
  • Session 2: Contract administration, control procurements, contract closure
