Course Description

This course is 15 learning hours inclusive of 4 hours of interactive online facilitated sessions. It is recommended that learners spend approximately 3-hours per week on this course. 


This course will cover specific evidence-based strategies aimed at fostering orientation to the learner's optimal functioning, while experimenting with several approaches to determine the best fit for each learner. Participants will discover the different factors that influence their mindset and mental states, focusing on the more practical applications of positive psychology in promoting one’s own mental well-being.

  • Module 4: Nature, Diet, Exercise and Sleep

Prerequisites

Recommended For

  • Anyone currently in a supervisory or leadership role, or those who aspire to such roles, who want to apply the principles of positive psychology to enhance their leadership skills.
  • While focused on the workplace, the skills gained in the program can be beneficial in day-to-day living as well. The application of positive psychology techniques will empower and enable participants to meaningfully shape and influence their respective workplaces using a positive lens. This lens has been demonstrated to foster confidence, promote enthusiasm and broadens resilience.

Section Notes
This course includes four one-hour synchronous facilitated sessions scheduled on October 31 and November 7, 14, and 21 from 7:00-8:00 pm Atlantic Time. It is recommended that learners sign up early so they can have access to the recommended readings and videos up to a week before the first live session. Those who cannot participate in the facilitated live sessions will be given an alternate assignment to gauge comprehension of the materials. In addition to the one-hour facilitated session per week, learners can expect to spend approximately 2 hours per week in reading, watching videos, reflection and assignment preparation. The final assignment will be due on March 28.
