Course Description

This course is 20 learning hours inclusive of 4.5 hours of live sessions. It is recommended that learners spend approximately 6-7 hours (inclusive of the 1.5 hour live session) per week on course materials.

As more leaders commit to EDIA, there is an increasing demand for the skills and competencies necessary to support this work. Organizations are seeking individuals with the expertise to address evolving EDIA challenges in a complex social climate. Considering a collective awakening to systemic racism and anti-Black racism, professionals in this field must be equipped not only with technical knowledge but also with the confidence, cultural competence, and lived experience to respond meaningfully to racial and structural inequities.

This course will introduce learners to the foundational concepts and frameworks needed to strategically integrate EDIA into organizational systems. It will provide practical tools for aligning EDIA with business goals to achieve sustainable and transformational change. A particular focus will be placed on addressing systemic and anti-Black racism as essential components of effective EDIA work.

Testimonials

I would highly recommend this course to others, especially as a part of the Certificate in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion program. This course pulled together the learnings from the first three courses in this certificate program and allowed us the opportunity to consider our learnings and how they apply to our personal and professional lives.

It provided us the opportunity to self-reflect and take our learnings and move forward with them.  This course has provided me with a great shift in my thinking, awareness and actions and I look forward to continuing my learning in the EDI space.
